Two complementary departments of Uu are involved in the project: 1a) The Freudenthal Institute for science and mathematics education (UU-FI) is a research institute in the Faculty of Science aiming at the improvement of science and mathematics education, both formal and non-formal. FI also engages in science and mathematics teacher education, the continuous professional development of teachers, curriculum development and outreach activities. 1b) University Museum Utrecht (UU-UMU) was founded 1928 and is a leading research museum in the Netherlands. The principles of inquiry- and design-based learning and the theory of ‘the Nature of Science’ and scientific literacy form the basis of UMU’s programmes.

The research centre SMEER (Science, Mathematics, Engineering Education Research) coordinted by KU aims to contribute to the international scientific knowledge in science, mathematics and engineering education, in various contexts of learning.

BBC has one of the largest centers for professional development of educational practitioners (e.g. in-service teachers, principals, superintendents) in Israel. BBC is engaged in teacher training for STEM education and is currently developing a state-of-the-art STEAM Education Centre.

Development and implementation of ICT tools is the core of Euroface´s focus. Euroface as a partner of schools and ensures the transfer of innovation into primary and secondary schools (work–base learning, promoting STEM education etc.).



Djapo is a Belgian nationally licensed NGO working with the Belgian government to realise quality education and the SDGs in the field of Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship Education. Djapo provides needs-based pre-service and in-service teacher training for pre-primary, primary and secondary education. Djapo has developed its very own didactic framework and accompanying innovative methods and tools.

The Alma Löv Museum is an art museum with the ambition to make contemporary art available in the countryside. Besides its permanent and temporary exhibitions, the museum offers workshops, concerts, lectures, film festivals and educational courses. In 2017, the museum started school programs: the Alma Löv school program is designed to encourage engagement from all participating students, teachers and museum educators. Together they explore contemporary science topics through contemporary works of art.

The Research Development (R&D) Experiments and Initiatives Department in the Israeli Ministry of Education has existed for over 25 years with focus on the research, development and implementation of future-oriented pedagogies. The department operates a network of ‘innovation generators’, which includes hundreds of schools that are graduates of development and entrepreneurial innovation programs that the department has been developing and conducting.
